How can we forget God?

Even If we say we can’t, when our actions suggest that “we run things” and no one can challenge us, when we are the demigods, it is as if God has no whereabouts in our little big scheme of things, then we have, even momentarily, forgotten about God.

So, we say that we cannot, but we often do forget about God; even though the psalmist’s assertions about the divine presence and power would suggest that one must forever stand in awe of the Almighty.

1 From the rising to the setting of the sun, he says- in other word, all the time, that perfection of beauty should arrest our attention, demand our adoration.

What does he mean when he says that “Our God comes and goes and does not keep silence?” Even the sound of the wind and waves some who can hear, choose to ignore. Of course, we can block our eyes even if we are sighted, for as the saying goes, there is none so blind as the one who refuses to see. Yes, we stifle our ears when the noise does not suit our purpose even though the psalmist might claim that “3 our God is…a devouring fire, and a mighty tempest all around him” The truth is that some sit in the fire, live in the fire and don’t feel the heat. That’s why they can continue to make hell for others who, unfortunately, feel the heat of their hate, experience the. hunger brough on by their greed, because they are so wicked, the ones to whom God says, “19 You give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.”

But woe to those who seem not to know that free paper burns, as islanders say. It is better to choose to be on the side of the One who secures everybody’s future, and who controls time- time that will eventually run out; because yes, free paper burn! Don’t practice being on the wrong side of right, about whom 6 “The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge”.

The Judge will execute judgement. 22 “Mark this ten, you who forget God, or will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver you.”.
