If the Lord is, indeed, my light and my salvation (v.1), it means at least two things.

“I don’t deserve this. I’ve done the best that I could”.

My soul, yes, my whole life, needs to be continually lifted (v.1). Otherwise, I’d be down in the dumps when I consider well …,

“The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it. The world, and those who live in it” (v.1).
